Mary-Janes are what your style needs

FINDING COMFORT: Loafers and sneakers have been helpful, I have been seriously considering adding Mary-Janes to that collection.

I recently came to the realisation that just like you have different footwear designated for different occasions in your life, your everyday style equally deserves options for you to look stunning. Having different errands and appointments to get to during the week has forced me to invest in more wearable, comfortable and statement footwear.

And while the loafers and sneakers have been helpful, I have been seriously considering adding Mary-Janes to that collection. These not only give that school nostalgia; they are also easy to wear with a lot of your everyday style.  And the best part is that you get to make a statement, while staying comfortable and able to go about your day seamlessly. And if you thought that was the best part, read on.

Go for the classic school girl look

You can keep things interesting with your Mary-Janes, by styling them with other pieces that give that school girl look, but in a more mature way. So, execute this by choosing pieces such as plaid prints, adding socks to your Mary-Janes, and also adding oversized blazers. What this achieves for you is a look that is interesting, but also appropriate enough for your Mary-Janes to fit right in and have you winning in the fashion arena.

You could, for instance, style your Mary-Janes with a pleated skater skirt in a bright hue or some plaid print and add a dress shirt and your blazer to this ensemble.

You could also switch up this two-piece look, opting for a dress instead, probably something skater and colourful and add your Mary-Janes, accentuated with some socks. The beauty about these shoes is that you will not go unnoticed, but will also be winning within the fashion stakes.

Style them over your denims

While these shoes seem like the kind of accessory you need to dress up, wearing it on a dress down look is possibly where it will shine the most, because it will be that touch that helps your look come together, beautifully. If you are going for a denim and white dress shirt look, add your Mary-Janes for the finishing touch. You can decide to add these in a colourful pick, so they also be the style spice that elevates your attire.

You can also decide to have this on as the closing accessory on your denim dress look, and finishing this off with your favourite coat or jacket, depending on what weather you are dressing up for. While the black patent style of these shoes works well for the style option mentioned in the first bit, with your denim look, you could explore some colourful options for your Mary-Janes.
